New Fire/Paramedic Station Project Description

The new Fire Station 7 replaces the existing one located at 14123 W. Nordhoff Street. The old station was built in the 1950’s and is approximately 2355 square feet on a 25,658 sq. ft. lot. The new two story fire station will be a state of the art 16,000 square foot building on an approximately 1.9 acre lot located at 14630-66 Plummer Street. The new station will have three heavy apparatus bays and three light apparatus bays. The building will be designed for Silver certification by the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program for sustainable design.

Project Status

The Board of Public Works awarded the Fire Station No. 7 construction contract to Sinanian Development, Inc. on April 10, 2013. Shoring and grading operations have been completed. The contractor is currently installing underground utilities. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on July 2013.
